Flagg Creek was once Maple Crest Golf Course. When I-55 was constructed, a portion of the golf course was lost forever. The Pleasantdale Park District and the City of Countryside formed an alliance to save this golf course from developers. Martin Design provided the vision for the new facility to include a 9-hole golf course, lighted practice facilities and site planning to accommodate a new clubhouse. This facility, completed in 1994, was planned to provide for the needs of any golfer, including the high handicapper as well as the frequent golfer and league play. 45,000 rounds of golf are played at Flagg Creek yearly.
